ABU DHABI, UAE: The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has sealed the Birat Manila Restaurant for selling non-halal food.
Located in Mussafah area of Abu Dhabi, the restaurant was also allegedly preparing the food with the same equipment and tools used to prepare halal food.
“The restaurant, holding trade license number CN-4092499, has been found in violation of Law No. (2) of 2008 regarding food in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and its accompanying legislation,” the ADAFSA noted.
“Furthermore, its practices pose a significant risk to public,” it added.
The ADAFSA noted that the restaurant will be allowed to operate again after getting the necessary permits to sell non-halal foods and “changing its equipment and sterilizing the entire premises thoroughly before reopening to the public”.
