In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the scammers are now using fake food offers to con the customers.

Initially, the scammers will post fake offers online that look way too good to be true. Once you click on it, they will ask you for your personal and financial details.

They will send you a One-Time Password (OTP) under a fake name, showing a different amount. If you give them this OTP, you will have access to all your banking info, letting them make all sorts of fraudulent transactions with your name and your money. How scammers are using fake food offers to con UAE residents

If you are may be interested in keeping your money and not giving it to a random scammer, be cautious of offers you didn’t ask for.

Only trust online offers if they are listed on a restaurant’s official website. If their email is orderfood@thisstotallyreal.com, they are probably a scammer.

Do yourself a favour and don’t give them your sensitive info.

Also, if you get an OTP text, always double check the purchase amount and merchant’s name to make sure it matches up with the order that you made.

You worked hard for your money, so make sure you’re the one actually spending it.
