The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday recorded the hottest day of the year, with the mercury touching 50.8°C.
“The highest temperature recorded over the Country today is 50.8 °C in Owtaid (Al Dhafra Regen) at 14:45 UAE Local time,” the Country’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) posted on X.

Earlier on August 02, 2023, the temperature touched 50.2°C in Owtaid (Al Dhafra Region) and later it touched 50.3°C on August 25.
Meanwhile, according to the NCM, light to moderate rain fell in Al Shiwayb area in Al Ain and Shawka, Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday afternoon.
