Pakistan PM mourns death of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohamed Al Nahyan

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region.

His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun passed away on Wednesday at the age of 82.

“Deeply saddened at the demise of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohamed Al Nahyan,” Shahbaz Sharif wrote on the microblogging website X. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the leadership and people of the UAE at this hour of grief.”

The prime minister said that His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun will be long remembered for his contribution to building stronger ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“May Allah Almighty grant him eternal peace,” the prime minister prayed.

Earlier, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also mourned the death of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum extended his sincere condolences and sympathy to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Al Nahyan family, praying to Allah Almighty to rest the soul of the deceased in Paradise.

In honour of his memory, the Dubai Ruler’s Court declared a seven-day official mourning period.

The flags remain flown at half-mast for seven days starting from May 01.
