New school in offing in Dubai for 4000 Pakistani students

DUBAI, UAE: The Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) – the largest Community Centre in the world for Overseas Pakistanis and the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) first not-for-profit healthcare facility – is planning to open a new school in the Emirate with accommodation facility of around 4,000 students.

At present, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is home to 1.7 million Pakistanis, the second largest community in the Middle Eastern Country.

In Dubai, High Highness Shaikh Rashid Al Maktoum Pakistani School and Pakistan Education Academy while Sharjah’s Pakistan Islamia High School are catering to the academic needs of Pakistani students.

Currently, most Pakistani students in the UAE are enrolled in British curriculum institutes.

In an interview with Khaleej Times, the President of Pakistan Association Dubai Dr. Faisal Ikram told “We are in the process of acquiring land from the government. We will be seeking support from the community also. Based on the trust we have developed over the years, we hope that we can bank on that and go back to the community and broaden the donor base.”

The Pakistan Association Dubai has successfully completed the auditorium, sports complex, and a new building dedicated to the medical centre as part of the Own-a-Brick campaign with the help of the community in the UAE.
