DUBAI, UAE: The residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will enjoy up to 13 days off as public holidays next year, according to the Resolution No. 27 of 2024 issued by the UAE Cabinet effective from January 1, 2025.
The UAE Public Holidays Calendar as per the resolution include the following;
1 Public Holiday on New Year
The UAE residents are entitled to a one-day holiday on Wednesday (January 1, 2025) to celebrate the New Year.
4 Public Holidays on Eid Al Fitr in March-April 2025
If the Holy Month of Ramadan lasts 29 days next year, the UAE residents will enjoy a three-day holiday from Shawwal 1 to 3.
However, if Ramadan lasts for 30 days, the 30th of the Islamic Month will be a holiday as well, giving residents four days off from Ramadan 30 to Shawwal 3.
4 Public Holidays on Eid Al Adha in June 2025
In UAE, there will be one day off for Arafat Day (Dhu Al Hijjah 9) and three further days for Eid Al Adha (Dhu Al Hijjah 10 to 12).
1 Public Holiday on Hijri New Year in June 2025
One Public Holiday will be declared for Islamic New Year (falling on Muharram 1).
1 Public Holiday on Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in September 2025
The UAE residents will enjoy one day off on Rabi Al Awwal 12, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
2 Public Holidays on UAE National Day in December 2025
There would be two public holidays to mark the 54th UAE Union Day on December 2 and 3, 2025.
The Resolution No. 27 of 2024 further says that “With the exception of Eid holidays, any of the official holidays mentioned in article No.1 may be carried over by a Cabinet decision to the beginning or end of the week”.
It also declares “Local governments may approve any other official holidays not mentioned in this Resolution for their government departments and institutions on special occasions or for any other reason.”
