DUBAI, UAE: Dubai will have more than 70 new parks by 2026 to serve various communities and not just families, according to the Head of Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Department at Dubai Municipality Ahmed Ibrahim AlZarouni.
The Emirate is already home to more than 190 parks, offering visitors many facilities and services such as sports fields, playgrounds for children and people of determination in addition to barbecue areas.
Speaking at the Arabian Travel Mart (ATM) held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Ahmed Ibrahim AlZarouni said that the Emirate will get more than 30 new parks in the next year.
The ATM 2024, the leading global travel and tourism event, is being held from May 6 to 9. The record-breaking edition will feature 2,300 exhibitors from 165 Countries with around 41,000 visitors expected to attend the event.
“The parks will range from mega parks to neighbourhood parks to smaller community play areas,” AlZarouni was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times.
“The parks will have a new generation design,” he said revealing some details about the designs of the upcoming new green areas.
“If you have seen the new parks that we opened in Al Nahda, Qusais and Al Warqa, these are some of the new generation parks. These parks have more elegant designs and more play areas.” AlZarouni added.
