DUBAI, UAE: Dubai is set to host the world’s first Jet Suit Race; the first sporting contest of its kind featuring opponents who go aerial relying solely on suits equipped with jet engines.

The event will be held on February 28, 2024 in the area between Dubai Harbor and Skydive Dubai.

The Dubai Jet Suit Race will rewrite the rules of sporting contests by featuring daredevil stunt pilots soaring through the air without the assistance of traditional aircraft.

The competitors will harness the power of cutting-edge jet suits provided by Gravity Industries, a pioneering company in the realm of jet suits and the driving force behind the emerging sport of jet suit racing.

In a groundbreaking move, eight elite contestants including the UAE’s own Ahmed Al Shehhi will take to the skies to navigate a challenging course using only their jet-powered suits.

This unparalleled event promises to showcase not only the prowess of these gravity-defying athletes but also Dubai’s standing as a global hub for innovative and extraordinary events.

The Chairman of Dubai Sports Council Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized the significance of this novel event and its global impact, attributing its realization to the visionary leadership of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.

This race signals the beginning of a new era of exciting aerial sporting action globally and it is a true reflection of Dubai’s soaring spirit of enterprise as well as the human capacity to overcome challenges,” Sheikh Mansoor said.
