Dubai Police Fully Sponsors 60 Employees for Umrah

As many as 60 employees of Dubai Police were set off for the holiest of Muslim places Mecca and Medina on a special itinerary arranged and sponsored by the force.

The initiative launched by the Islamic and Tolerance Affairs Department at the General Department of Community Happiness is in line with the force’s objective of ensuring the happiness of society and as per the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

Leading the farewell for the pilgrims from Dubai Police was Dr Brigadier Ahmad Al Mansouri, Acting Director of the General Department of Community Happiness, in the presence of Brigadier Ahmad Obaid Al Muhairi, Assistant Director General for Operations at the General Department of Airport Security; Colonel Obaid Al Alili, Director of DXB Terminal 2 Security Department; First Lieutenant Ahmad Khalifa Al Mazrouri, Head of the Islamic and Tolerance Affairs at the Department of Security Awareness.

Al Mansouri stated, “The Umrah journey initiative is based on a keen interest in promoting happiness among the employees and enhancing their quality of life.”

He continued, “This initiative from the Dubai Police General Command is to reward its employees for their efforts by giving them the opportunity to perform this great worship.

Al Mansouri also emphasised the importance of adhering to good morals, abiding by all laws, and representing Dubai Police in the best possible manner while in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He then wished the pilgrims success in their journey and that Allah would accept their worship.

For their part, the pilgrims who received the sponsorship described the experience as “overwhelming” and said they were grateful to the Dubai Police, who lifted up the financial burden on them.
