DUBAI, UAE: As many as 5.18 million foreigners visited Dubai in the first quarter of 2024, marking an 11 percent surge from the same period in 2023.
Last year, Dubai received in total a record 17.15 million international visitors.
In the 31st Edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) that the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) said that the Emirate welcomed 5.18 million international visitors from January to March 2024, showing an 11 percent rise over the 4.67 million tourist arrivals during the same period in 2023.
“The Emirate’s continued record-breaking visitation performance demonstrates the sustained commitment to delivering on our long-term D33 Agenda goals,”, the DET Director General Helal Saeed Al Marri said.
Commending this achievement, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that “With the commencement of the Arabian Travel Market 2024, we are pleased to share that Dubai’s tourism sector has started the year on a promising note. The city welcomed close to 5.2 million international visitors in the first quarter of 2024, marking an 11% surge from the same period in 2023.”
“Further, its hotels recorded an outstanding occupancy rate of 83%, ranking among the highest globally. Dubai remains committed to delivering an exceptional tourism experience, aligned with the goal of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 to establish Dubai’s position as one of the world’s top three cities for tourism,” Sheikh Hamdan added.
